Securities Watchdog Official Named Head of Shenzhen Exchange

China has appointed an official of the country’s top securities watchdog as president of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, according to a statement from the bourse Monday, setting off a personnel reshuffle at the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).
Li Jizun filled the post vacated by Sha Yan, who has been promoted to chair of the exchange.
Li, 49, is a veteran state official. He started working at the research office of the State Council, China’s cabinet, in 2005 and subsequently held multiple positions with responsibilities centered around economic research.
