China needs to address the cost and funding obstacles to building out the infrastructure needed to support the large-scale deployment of connected cars, experts said at a recent industry forum.
The infrastructure at the center of the discussions is the cloud technology-powered systems that connect autonomous vehicles with surrounding devices as they move, enabling them to gather real-time data on road conditions and interact with roadside equipment such as traffic lights and laser radars.
