    The success of video game Black Myth: Wukong has sparked a tourism boom in North China’s Shanxi province, whose history and culture heritage inspired much of the title’s stunning visuals. Released on Aug. 20, the game selected 36 sites across China as in-game backdrops, 27 of which are in Shanxi, including Shuanglin Temple and Yungang Grottoes. On the back of Wukong’s wild popularity, Shanxi’s culture and tourism department on Aug. 22 launched a themed travel package designed to allow travelers to experience in real life the historical relics and buildings featured in the game

    Xia Shuzhang, the founder of contemporary public administration in China, died on Wednesday. He was 105. Beginning his academic journey at the University of Chicago in 1944, he later transferred to Harvard University to pursue a master’s degree in public administration.
