- Farmers living in floodwater-storage areas of Central China’s Henan province had a scant harvest this autumn as their fields were soaked following continuous rains and multiple discharges of floodwater. The autumn harvest accounts for 45% of Henan’s grain output. Since July, more than 12 million yuan in disaster relief has been distributed to the province. - A fire tore through a 13-story residential and commercial building early Thursday in the city of Kaohsiung in Taiwan, leaving at least 46 dead and 41 injured.
